This scene has also a touch of humor, because someone is watching over someone. Who is the real voyeur?
Everybody, in any situation has already wished to watch over somebody that was really interesting, no bad or even indecent thoughts, no privacy invasion, but just that moment to catch the beauty, the opportunity to see someone that will never be forgotten. The girl or boy next door.
To make our conception in a pinup according to our parameters we added a touch of humor.
Our sexy and beautiful painter knows that she is been watched, but in order to get her unique piece of art she is playing a game in which she, actually, is watching the voyeur and she also knows that we are watching her.

This portrait is a funny joke about a daughter-in-law and her mother-in-law.

We thought about doing an image like an old painting.

The point was.... showing this strange relationship between women, with a touch of humour and at the same time a touch of evilness; they don't like each other.

Even though both of them are difficult to deal with which one is worst?

I had heard once someone has said: who has mother-in-law overtakes her limits and recently I heard a story about a young lady and her mother-in-law. I won't judge anybody, but the things (not good) I have heard about the old woman from different people... inspired me to produce an image.

As every action has a reaction, the young lady should do something against her mother-in-law too.

This is the latest Pinup I have done. She is one of my character for Artepixel's 2009 projects.
Her name is Nadja and she lives in the same age than the Arabian Nights.
She is a unique woman, skilled, enchanting, different, mysterious.
She could travel from kingdom to kingdom without restrictions; was she a witch? was she a genius? was she a thief?
You have to wait a little to know more about her, meanwhile wouldn't you like to be under her spell?

This image is another Artepixel's character developed for a project.
Today is her birthday and she is playing with her teddy bear before the party.
I did it only using Photoshop CS and took me some days of working.
Initially the penciled sketch was very different as you can see; after changing many things in the conception, at the end I started and finished her in the digital way.

This caricature is part of my Digital Painting and Drawing: Portraits and Caricatures course that I teach at Niagara College, Ontario Canada.
I would like to share this image with you because I liked very much the result. Caricature is something that I do not post here frequently but I love doing it. Every pinup I do, during the conception's phase I discuss with my partner about humor, that is fundamental in my opinion.
Caricatures are not easier, even though I do not need to create a funny situation, in summary, I need to enhance and sometimes change the most notable characteristics of the person and keep them recognizable.
I used Photoshop Cs and a wacom Intuos 2.

This image is one of Artepixel's characters for a serie of children stories about Education. This little girl is a friend of the girl in the "Continuing Education" image. They are around the same age and study in the same school, same class.
Originally in the story, the girl woke up and was going to have her breakfast with her little friend, when suddenly remembered something important. I have tried to show this idea through her expression.
At the end to make things easier we decided that would be better instead of going to school, she has just discovered that it was a holiday.
Like the other image, the penciled sketch, see image below, was done some months ago but only now I had time to paint it using Painter10. To save time I decided to paint only the girl, no background, no scenario, a different approach on my painting style to make it more classic painting than the way I work on my Pin-ups.

Inspired by one of the wonderful Norman Rockwell's images I made this pin-up for Mother's Day 2009.
I started from a penciled sketch, entirely 2D, I rendered it using photoshop to achieve this final version (more details about this image, sketches, close-ups,etc.,in my website). Meanwhile, I selected some details and references used to show to you see images below.
As always, there are lots of details and elements hidden in this image related to the conception and to my inspirations.
By the way, the conception was about a huge, big tough guy, that wants to honor his mother getting a tattoo, his first tattoo. Although he looks like a "bad guy", actually, he is very gentle, sensible and careful man.
He has chosen a very unique Tattoo Girl to do the job, this is one of my character developed to one of Artepixel's 2009 project.
You can see some contradictions of them, he is suffering not only a physical pain but also an emotional one, perhaps his mother has passed away. But this is another story.
She is a tattoo artist, she loves what she does, like a pin-up artist; and she lives free, itinerantly spreading her art and making her money.
She has just taken a look at us. she is having fun without being disrespectful to him.
Beautiful, wonderful, sexy, cute, petite and so talented, it does not matter if you are a guy or a girl, wouldn't you like to have a tattoo session with her?

Hi My Dear Friends:

This is our new Happy Halloween 2008 Pin-up.
We did this image as a continuation of the last pin-up Jolly Halloween 2007.
This new character, is from Jolly Halloween family, actually she is her cousin. Hahahaha.
These witch's characters are from a series of pin-up that we have developed.
I did the penciled sketch, scanned it and started the coloring and rendering on Photoshop.
The main idea is show a very updated women, in a sexy appeal pinup, but with some details from the old fashioned pinup style.
We looked for a very balanced color scheme in this image, to evoke a halloween's mood, I mean some dark colors.
Dark colors, very often, are applied to create a scary environment, but we work on them to make something like a sweet palette to a cute image.
We also worked on texture, we create different kinds of brushes for this image, specially for background and other details.
As always, there are details hidden in the image concerned to its conceptual art.
The first sketches were different than the last version. Some steps and details from its production can be reached at the link below.
The job is not finished yet according to our standards, but if someone wants print of it, they will be available on 11x8 and 11X17 inches.

We liked mythology's legends, from any culture, as well as the different folklores we can find on them. We also liked the mythological monsters, specially from the classic greek and roman's mythologies.

The Medusa is a monster that is showed as a very ugly and repulsive image, see some images that we took as references on our researches:

Despite the differences in some versions about her origin, see the link, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medusa, we prefer the version where Medusa was originally a beautiful woman.

We think that any female character should be beautiful, even the mythological or folkloric female monsters.

For our Medusa's version, we thought about a beautiful, lethal, powerful, imposing, very feminine and also sexy.
Although these adjectives, our Medusa is still a monster, so we've blended her into a snake body.
Her animal portion should be huge and vigorous like an anaconda, that in Brazil is called Sucuri, see the links:

We've added some elements, colors and patterns to our anaconda's body, after all Medusa is a monster and we can play and create anything to achieve the result we wished.

We've decided to show Medusa in her cave to emphasize her power; a place where she dominates everything and where she makes eating a pleasant moment even if she is going to snack.

This image is a tragicomical situation for Snow White fairy tale.  We want to create a very expressive old witch's face that could hypnotize us, in this case, the beautifull and young Snow White.
She wouldn't be able to see the worm from the apple, and it is actually trying to warn her about the danger she will be wrapped up in.
It is a very laboured and also laborious image done completely in 2D technique.  After using myself as a reference, I scanned the penceling and work with Photoshop CS, a Intuos2 Tablet and music to inspire me.
This image is also for my own portfolio and to show another kind of work.  I like very much to work on different styles and to be versatile.

I did this image for our own portfolio, actually my intention was to produce some realistic 3D portrait, but using 2D techniques.
I thought some character inspired in Final Fantasy series, a beautifull japanese girl.  But as I would like to focus on her face, just like a portrait it wasn't necessary prepare a entire action scene, just to show her face and expression.
Like in Final Fantasy characters her expression is nice, calm but impressible.

Aphrodite's Belt

There are many stories about Aphrodite in classical greek mythology, most of them concerned to her beauty's powers and all of them very inspiring.

She was married with Hefesto (Volcano) but she was an unfaithful wife. Actually she was a goddess that liked to seduce mortals as well as gods.

She was such a provocative and irresistible woman that it was almost impossible to someone resist her.

Hefesto loved her so much that built to her, beyond other things, a magic golden belt as a gift .

When she wore that belt no one could resist her sensuality and beauty. Men and Gods became completely insane by desire and they used to do crazy things for her.

We searched for references about her belt but we did not find anything.

We thought about an Aphrodite's version wearing her magical belt. How would be that belt? Would be possible to fall in love by that woman? was she really irresistible?

We did our version inspired by Aphrodite's legends. This image has lot of details and elements dedicated to her and also with her symbology.

This is one of my gallery's favorite images.
I would like to create a sensual and sexy Pinup for the next Halloween. Something with a little "moviment" not static and of course a charming and beautiful pinup (not every witch is ugly and really evil). The small cats are to enhance the idea of simple moviment, like a natural scene and I like to put details inside the image other characters beyond the main one. I guess viewers can imagine other things more than the main action in my pinups.
I decided to work only with photoshop and I wanted to achieve a result like the old cute, delicate, classic and also sexy pinups from 50/60 ages.
Another thing that I would like to point is the background patterns I used, it was inspired in Alphonse Mucha`s style, I really love use patterns to make a better composition.

We (my and partner) did this image as a joke.

What if after decapitation, the french queen, Marie Antoinette, could return from the dead ? Would she be so angry and furious to want revenge for her death? Could be this concept used in Halloween time? It would scary enough to find a zombie woman with madness eyes holding an ax claiming for revenge?

Well, perhaps it won't be so nice as my cute and sexy witch, in Jolly Halloween's image, but I worked a different technique to make this image, to get this result.

I want to emphasize some textures, color's choices, expressions, composition and also the creations of new exclusive brushes in Photoshop for this image.

We did some research for this job, and the best source was the movie Marie Antoinette, with the actress Kirsten Dunst from Sofia Coppola.

When we phone Kirsten, she was not available for posing, so we chose another remarkable artist to perform Marie (guess what) and this was the most funny part of the job, I would like to make a kind of challenge, could you imagine who is that girl? hehehe...

The image was done during other projects intervals and it took around 49 hours. I used only Photoshop.

We had to create an image to asnwer a question in IMAGINEFX Q&A section.
We have searched for some references to create a turtle's image and we found
images of marine turtles and non marine turtles.

When we draw the image we were talking about turtles habits (we saw in
www.Wikipedia.org, lots of things about turtles) and we make a joke.
If we were marine turtles we would surf every day but unfortunately a non
marine turtle would never know how nice is surfing.
Well, why not making a funny imagine where a marine turtle is helping its
friend, a non marine turtle to surf?

After some discussing about surfing, turtles species, humour, many
concepts, many sketches, versions, painting, we achieve this result.

I thought to increase my gallery in a children books web site where I have some ordering

A client commissioned me to illustrate a children's cover book. He did not know exactly what he needed, so I had to do lot of sketches. One of them was this one thet I present you.
It is not choosen, but I guessed it would be a very nice image to increase my Childrensillustrators web gallery.
I did the sketch directly on computer, I kept the same initial concept but I changed a little the eyes separation in final version.

In my opinion, painting can make a great difference in the final result, can make an image alive, so I decided to try something new. A sort of simple 2D rendered painting as I usualy do in some pin-ups, less textures, free brushes, no art-line, higher skin tone, etc.

This is my new Fan-Art image from ZATANA, a DC comic book character. Actually, a client has ordered the image, so I made some sketches to be evaluated and approved.
He choose one version, but I liked very much the other ones (so after the job I decided to do my own version from the original sketch)

Zatana is a magician with special powers, her costume is very attractive, in my opinion, guys like her because she is exciting, specially because of the fishnet she uses and the tight clothes that enhance her body.
I can say, when we draw a beautiful and sexy but not vulgar women in this costume the image is really very nice.

The idea was Zatanna doing a simple magic trick, rabbits and birds going out from her hat, something like, she was performing the trick for the client.

I though about a 2 action's levels composition like a Pin-up (one foreground image with the main action and one background image enhancing Zatanna).




The choosen version was only with Zatanna image. A crayon over paper illustration (pencilling illustration).

But I decided to do my own pencilling and colered version.

SCI-FI CROSSOVER
FanArt, we did this image just for fun and it is from our internal portfolio, but now we decided to share with our friends and users.
We very often work listening to some musics or even watching some TV series and movies.
One of our favorite series is X-Files. In X-Files, Fox Mulder has been found many aliens evicences and events but he never found the original Alien (hahahahaha).
What if special agent Fox Mulder meet the Alien? We thought about a funny situation like a crossover between both characters.
We decided to do a Mulder's caricature, nothing special but just funny as lots of things we have done before.
Why not Scully? this is a good point, we wished to use I WANT TO BELIEVE poster like to mean, the Alien is telling Mulder to believe in it, that the Alien is true not a movie's character.
